“The last words were sung, a short outro is the only thing that follows.
After about half an hour the amazing debut album by Before I Forsake comes
to an end. In comparison to the first EP Dedicated To The Heart nothing
has really changed. The five boys still play metalcore with a few hardcore
influences, but they have definitely improved a lot. Not only the sound is
much better now than it used to be, the music and the lyrics have grown up
as well.
Once more Before I Forsake preach the positive mental attitude; giving
other people hope and belief in themselves is what they apparently do best.
Combining this with nice melodies and heavy breakdowns, Traces is
probably one of the best albums ever released by a metalcore band from
Hamburg.
To be honest, seven songs and two instrumentals are not much. Related to
the quality of the record, it is even way too short. But nevertheless,
these 25 minutes are enough to prove that there are still creative and
